Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI)  

Description: The Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI) continues to serve as Virginia Tech's largest university-level research center and is dedicated to conducting research to save lives, save time and save money in the transportation field by developing and using state-of-the-art tools, techniques, and technologies to solve transportation challenges. Its cutting-edge research is effecting significant change in public policies in the transportation domain on both the state and national levels.

University of Wisconsin-Madison Transportation Society  

Description: The University of Wisconsin-Madison Transportation Society is a group of students who are from different disciplines and educational backgrounds, including civil engineering, logistics, industrial engineering and economics, but have a common interest in transportation. In its monthly meetings, the society discusses logistics, roadway reconstruction, transportation safety, and ITS in Wisconsin.

Description: The Electronic Document Library contains documents on intelligent transportation systems topics published or sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of Transportation. Most of the documents are in PDF format.

TRIS (Transportation Research Information Services) Online  

Description: TRIS Online contains over 500,000 records of transportation research and is updated monthly. Funded by sponsors of the Transportation Research Board. Some documents are immediately available; it also includes journal citations and abstracts of ITS-related articles.

Transportation Northwest (TransNow)  

Description: Transportation Northwest (TransNow) is committed to the development and maintenance of a Center of excellence in transportation research and education in the theme area of "transportation operations and planning." Transportation Learning Network (TLN) (formerly Tel8)  

Description: The Transportation Learning Network (TLN), formerly Tel8, is an interactive videoconferencing network among states in the western United States. The network links together the transportation departments (DOTs) in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming and the Mountain-Plains Consortium universities of Colorado State University, North Dakota State University, South Dakota State University, University of Utah, and University of Wyoming.

Transportation Engineering Online Lab Manual  

Description: This web site is a laboratory manual that is designed to supplement the average junior-level course in transportation engineering. Laboratory exercises are presented for most of the major topics addressed in undergraduate transportation engineering. Practicing engineers and educational entities view these topics as the most important ones that civil engineering graduates need to understand.

Transportation Engineering Course Materials  

Description: This website is part of a project developed through the Education Council of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. Its purpose is to provide a web-based index to transportation engineering courses that are taught in colleges and universities throughout the U.S. The site will allow university faculty to more effectively share information regarding the courses that they teach, and it will be particularly helpful to new faculty who are developing their own course materials. It includes syllabi for four different ITS courses, 18 traffic engineering or traffic flow courses and many introduction to transportation engineering courses.

Transportation and Civil Engineering (TRAC) Program  

Description: The Transportation and Civil Engineering (TRAC) Program is the hands-on education program of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). TRAC is made available to secondary schools (high schools and Junior high schools) through regional centers where the Departments of Transportation (DOTs) work in partnership with other government organizations, universities, non-profit organizations, and private industry. At its most basic level, TRAC is a program designed for integration into science, math, and social studies classes.

Description: Students experience the critical frontiers of science and transportation engineering through intensive training in math, science, and technology.
